What to buy, where and how much to pay · CAOS Art Tattoo
One of the most frequent questions we receive at CAOS Tattoo is: "What products should I buy and where can I find them?" This guide will tell you EXACTLY what to buy, where to find it, and how much to expect to pay. All based on our experience with 400+ clients from 36 countries.
Short answer: Not necessarily. Many "special tattoo" products are marketing. What you really need are fragrance-free, dye-free, hypoallergenic products with simple, proven ingredients. A good pharmacy dermatological product works just as well (or better) than "specialized" products that cost 3x more.
You need gentle liquid soap, fragrance-free, neutral pH.
At CAOS Tattoo we recommend and our clients receive:
La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5
$12.000 – $18.000
After healing (week 4+), you need a daily moisturizer. Look for fragrance-free, dye-free formulas with ceramides or hyaluronic acid. Pharmacy dermatological brands (CeraVe, Eucerin, La Roche-Posay) are excellent options.
After 2-3 weeks, sunscreen is MANDATORY.

❌ MYTH: "Expensive products heal better"
✓ REALITY: A good pharmacy product works just as well as expensive ones.
❌ MYTH: "I need special tattoo products"
✓ REALITY: Quality dermatological products are sufficient.
❌ MYTH: "More cream = faster healing"
✓ REALITY: Thin layers are more effective.
❌ MYTH: "Petroleum jelly is best because it is pure"
✓ REALITY: Petroleum jelly does not let skin breathe.
Can I use the cream from my previous tattoo for a new one?
YES, if it has not expired (check date) and was stored cleanly.
Can I mix products?
NOT recommended. Use one product at a time to identify possible reactions.
My skin reacted badly to a product, what do I do?
Stop immediately, wash with water, and contact your artist or doctor.
Are natural/organic products better?
Not necessarily. What matters are proven ingredients, not "natural" marketing.
After working with 400+ clients from around the world, our recommendation is simple:
La Roche-Posay o Eucerin + SPF 50+ sunscreen
This investment will protect a tattoo that cost $150,000–500,000 CLP and will last decades.
Worth every penny.
Now you know exactly what to buy and where. Our artists will give you specific instructions on the day of your session. With over 400 five-star reviews from clients in 36 countries.
